We bring you some clips from John Hillcoat's masterful adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's apocalyptic novel...
Opening on January 8th is The Road, Australian director John Hillcoat's breathtaking adaptation of American novelist Cormac McCarthy's bleakly powerful end of the world fable. Featuring a career-best performance from Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the the Rings) as a desperate father whose only reason for living is to keep his young son (the remarkable Kodi Smit-McPhee) safe as the wander through a devastated landscape devoid of all hope, it really is the first must-see film of the year. And to give you just a taste of what you can expect, here are five clips from the film, as well as the trailer.
You can read a full and frank interview with The Road director John Hillcoat, writer Joe Penhall and star Viggo Mortensen in movieScope Issue 15, out now.
