As this exciting first look image shows, director James Cameron is busy working away on his new movie Avatar - his first film since 1997's Titanic. Shot entirely in 3D, Avatar stars Sam Worthington as war veteran Jake who is brought to Pandora, a distant planet inhabited by the humanoid race Na'vi who are not prepared to accept their new Earthly neighbours with open arms..

Avatar also stars Sigourney Weaver,  Michelle Rodriguez, Star Trek's Zoe Saldana and Giovanni Ribisi, and is due for release on December 18, 2009.
